Context
The war in Ukraine has caused trauma in many children, with 75% showing symptoms like emotional instability and sleep disorders. The shift to online learning has led to 75.6% of schoolchildren having sedentary lifestyles, and only 5% maintain good health by graduation. The war has also highlighted gender inequality, as Ukraine ranks 66th out of 146 in the 2023 Gender Gap Index. Schools are often the first places where children encounter unequal opportunities.
Mission
The mission of the Play for Equality project is to promote equal opportunities and inclusivity in sports and education, enhancing children's mental health and physical well-being.
This project aims to promote mental health through sports, encourage active lifestyles among schoolchildren, enhance equal opportunities in sports, educate and empower PE teachers, support schools with sports equipment, create sustainable PE programs for schools and increase awareness of these topics.
